Adelaide Fringe 2010 Parade/Opening Night

The Adelaide Fringe Festival is a collection of cultural/arts events in Adelaide. Every year, it opens with a parade down the main roads of CBD Adelaide and we were there to catch the opening night for 2010. All in all it was interesting, but after 15 min I was just waiting for the parade to end. It was crowded and rather boring. Didn’t regret going, but I probably wouldn’t go again.

Everyone waiting around before the parade.

What would a parade be without floats? Is this a giraffe or a kangaroo…

No idea what this is.

Before each float they’d show the name via a sign made up of scrabble-like tiles which is a really interesting concept.

I think this float is about renewable energy.

Besides floats, there were performers too. Many of them, in fact.

Going back after the parade ended.
